Infrastructure and Climate Change Risk Assessment
Victoria’s Department of Sustainability and Environment, together with the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), commissioned Maunsell to conduct a risk assessment on climate change impact on Victoria’s infrastructure.
The assessment examined the future suitability of water, power, telecommunications, transport, and buildings infrastructure in consideration of climate change.
The outcome was a comprehensive analysis of Victoria’s future infrastructure risks, considering increased intensity and frequency of extreme weather events, accelerated degradation of materials, and impacts on resource demand.
