Rural Access Roads (ADB/9)

This project develops the road network into rural areas to ensure that the social and economic benefits from arterial road improvements are maximised and that benefits are transmitted to the rural population. Improvement of rural roads in the provinces of Attapeu, Houaphan, Xaisomboun Special Zone and Vientiane in order to provide rural areas with access to markets and social services.

Maunsell's services include:

• Overall project management
• Supervision of the construction and administration of the contracts
• Responsibility of all tasks related to bridges, structures and drainage
• Identification of materials sources and approval of materials
• Ensuring contractors' adherence to environmental and social impact mitigation measures; provide benefit monitoring and evaluation
• Assist with and monitor the implementation of the resettlement plan
• Supervise clearance of UXO from contaminated project areas
