Lane Cove Tunnel Ventilation

The Lane Cove Tunnel was designed to improve travel to and from the North-West of Sydney, Australia. Maunsell undertook the tender design for the tunnel's ventilation system. This design sought to minimise the project capital costs for the client by considering the ventilation holistically, to optimise the annual power consumption costs and to meet stakeholder requirements.
The design included pollution and CO2 exposure modelling, determination of stack capacities, jet fan requirements, emergency operational requirements, equipment layouts and operational cost assessments. A Fire and Life Safety Assessment was also undertaken.
