Paksey Bridge

Maunsell are consulting engineers for the Paksey Bridge in north-western Bangladesh, a strategic road connection across the river Padma (Ganges) with an overall length of 1786m. The bridge consisting of 15 spans of 109.5m long and carrying two 7.5m carriageways (two lanes each) and two pedestrian walkways and has an estimated total construction cost is US$140 million.
The project also includes about 15km length of new connector roads linking the new bridge to the highway network. these connnecting roads include a new 60m span two lane bridge and several subways for existing local road crossing the alignment.
Services include:
- design and bidding document review
- prequalification of local and international contractors
- evaluation of tender bids
- supervision of construction
- administration of contracts
- measurement of works, processing and certification of payments
- preparation of comprehensive asset operation and maintenance plan
- economic analysis and detailed design of toll system
- monitoring of asset maintenance plan for 12 months after commissioning
