Talisman Saber 2007

The Australian Defence Force (ADF) has commenced planning for Talisman Saber 2007 (TS07). TS07 will comprise the Australian Regular Army, the Royal Australian Navy, and the Royal Australian Air Force services of the ADF in conjunction with the United States Defense Forces. TS07 will be conducted at designated Australian training facilities in Queensland and Northern Territory and within the Australian Maritime Zones of Coral Sea.
On behalf of the ADF, Maunsell have developed a Public Environment Report for the exercise. The Report provides a means of communicating what is currently planned as part of the exercise, the environmental issues the ADF has identified and the controls it is planning to implement for the exercise.
In addition to the environmental information presented in this website, Maunsell held two community information days in Rockhampton and Townsville, where interested community members had the opportunity to see further information and talk with TS07 representatives about the environmental aspects and environmental management planned for TS07. An additional information session is now planned for Yeppoon, on Thursday 30 November at the Yeppoon Town Hall, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
On behalf of the ADF and more broadly the Department of Defence, Maunsell invites community groups, government representatives and individuals to take the time to understand the commitments the ADF and Defence is making to ensure environmental sustainability is a routine part of Defence training, and welcomes feedback on its plans for TS07. Members of the community are welcome to download the PER for information purposes and to provide input on environmental matters in relation to TS07.
